Wednesday was the second day of Green City Livestock's Annual BBQ Customer
Appreciation Sale, highlighting home raised calves and yearlings after Monday's
yearling load lot sale. Wednesday's offering consisted of mostly smaller sized
strings of home raised calves, most weaned and worked. Several consignments
were in pretty thin condition with a good weigh up. A handful of extra buyers
in the seats boosted the market, also helped by some solid gains at the CME and
beef boxes holding at all time record highs. Much like Monday's yearling sale,
some of these prices just needed to be seen to be believed. Supply moderate,
demand very good.
