Compared to last week, feeder cattle receipts increased, featuring a strong
supply of good-quality, weaned cattle weighing over 500 lbs. Lighter-weight
calves were primarily unweaned. Demand was strong for quality offerings, while
plainer cattle met softer demand. On a limited comparison to last week's light
test, feeder steers and heifers traded $10.00 to $20.00 higher. Slaughter
cattle also posted modest gains, trading $5.00 higher.
