Dry Whey - West U.S.

Released on October 02, 2025

Prices for dry whey are unchanged in the West this week. Domestic demand is
steady to lighter, as some purchasers are hesitant to secure more loads than
necessary for immediate use, due to current prices. International interest is
light. Contacts report whey produced domestically remains priced at a premium
compared to loads produced internationally. Both tight inventories and limited
production are providing support to current dry whey prices, despite lighter
spot trading this week. Plant managers continue focusing production schedules
on higher whey protein concentrates and whey protein isolate. This is keeping
dry whey production light overall, but contacts say output is steady
week-to-week.
