Dry Whey - West U.S.

Released on January 08, 2026

In the West, dry whey prices remain stable this week. Domestic demand is
steady. Demand from international buyers varies from steady to stronger. Dry
whey spot load availability continues to be tight in the region. Some buyers
are purchasing from outside the region to meet immediate needs. Dry whey
production schedules vary from steady to lighter. Markets for higher whey
protein concentrates and isolate remain strong and demand continues to outpace
production. This, along with some closed cheese production capacity at the
start of 2026, is decreasing quantities of liquid whey being allocated to sweet
whey production for some manufacturers.
