Dry Whey - West U.S.

Released on January 02, 2026

In the West, both the price range and mostly price series for dry whey are
unchanged this week. Domestic demand is steady to lighter, as some stakeholders
are taking vacation for the New Year. International demand is steady. Markets
for higher whey protein concentrates and isolate remain bullish as demand
continues to outpace production, and plant managers say they are using
available supplies of liquid whey to focus production schedules on these
commodities. This, along with downtime for the end of year holidays, is keeping
dry whey production light. Manufacturers say they have limited spot inventories
and some spot purchasers are turning to the resale market to secure loads that
meet their immediate needs.

Prices for: West, All First Sales, F.O.B., Extra & Grade A, Edible Dry Whey
Price Range - Non-Hygroscopic; Dollars per Pound: 0.68 - 0.75
Mostly Range - Non-Hygroscopic; Dollars per Pound: 0.71 - 0.74
