Dry Buttermilk - West U.S.

Released on September 10, 2026

Manufacturers in the West are catching up on buttermilk powder (BMP)
production, with contacts reporting increased dryer availability in the
Southwest. Other regions note they do not plan to expand BMP output, and
product continues to move primarily on a contract basis, leaving spot
availability limited. Some producers project spot volumes may become available
in December. Market sentiment that BMP remains undervalued persists,
particularly as demand for nonfat dry milk continues to surge and compete for
dryer capacity. Both the price range and the mostly series decreased at the top
and bottom of the reported ranges this week.
