Dry Buttermilk - West U.S.

Released on July 24, 2025

Dry buttermilk prices moved 1 cent lower for the top of the range and mostly
price series in the West. The bottom of the range and mostly price series are
unchanged. Domestic demand is lighter. Demand from international buyers is
steady. Dry buttermilk production schedules vary from steady to lighter. In
some parts of the region lighter butter production schedules are decreasing
liquid and/or condensed buttermilk volumes for drying purposes. That said,
stakeholders indicate contractual obligations are continuing to be met, but
spot load availability is on the tight end. A few contacts note a major
confectionary ingredient is ticking down in price and that will positively
contribute to dry buttermilk demand from confectionary producers.
