In the West, the price range for dry buttermilk widened. The bottom of the 
range decreased slightly and the top of the range increased. Spot sales of 
buttermilk powder were steady. Inventories of buttermilk powder are tightening. 
Some contacts state spot load availability will remain tight for the remainder 
of Q3. BMP production is decreasing due to increased cream multiples along with 
an uptick in ice cream manufacturers purchasing condensed buttermilk. 
Manufacturers indicate butter production will decrease over the summer, leaving 
less buttermilk available for drying.
