Dry Buttermilk - West U.S.

Released on March 12, 2026

In the West, dry buttermilk prices increased 2 cents at the bottom ends of both
the range and mostly price series. The top end of the range is unchanged, while
the top end of the mostly price series decreased 1 cent. Demand from domestic
and international buyers is steady. Dry buttermilk production schedules are
mixed due to limited dryer time for liquid buttermilk volumes in some plants.
Many manufacturers are prioritizing dry buttermilk production for contractual
obligations, which is keeping their spot load inventories tight. Traders also
describe spot load availability as tight.
