Butter - West U.S.

Released on November 12, 2025

A few butter manufacturers convey milk intakes are below anticipated volumes,
however, plenty of spot cream loads are available to make up any shortages from
lower milk intakes. Spot cream demand is stronger for butter producers. Butter
production schedules are strong. Retail and bulk butter production lines are
heavily active. Some butter producers in the region report their bulk butter
production lines are primarily focused on loads for international customers.
This is tightening availability of bulk butter loads for domestic buyers.
Stakeholders anticipate this to continue into next year. Salted 80% butterfat
butter loads are readily available, while unsalted 80% butterfat butter loads
are somewhat tight. Domestic butter demand is mixed. Export butter demand
varies from steady to stronger.
