Butter - West U.S.

Released on October 01, 2025

Cream is readily available in the region. Cream loads are more affordable this
week with below flat market cream multiples reported. Butter production
schedules vary from steady to strong with plenty of cream for butter
manufacturers to churn. Production managers are focusing on retail more than
bulk. Retail sales activity is more robust than food service sales activity.
Salted and unsalted butter inventories are meeting demands. Stakeholders note
mixed domestic demand and strong export demand. The CME closing butter price is
up 10.5 cents from September 24, 2025, to $1.7250 for October 1, 2025. This
puts CME daily cheese trading prices at or above butter for the first trading
day of Q4.

Beginning November 1, 2025, this report will be published at 4:00 PM EST/3:00
PM CST.
