Butter - West U.S.

Released on August 06, 2025

Butter manufacturers are receiving contractual cream volumes, despite fat
components in milk outputs decreasing. Demand for cream from ice cream
producers is lightening, leaving more spot cream available for butter
manufacturers. Cream demand for butter churning is mixed. Plant downtime,
churning equipment replacement, and cream prices are contributing to unsteady
spot cream demand from butter producers. Butter production schedules vary from
steady to stronger. Salted butter is readily available, while unsalted butter
from some producers is somewhat tight for spot buyers. Domestic demand is
stronger. However, many sellers convey sales for the food service sector are
down this year. Export demand is steady.
