Butter - West U.S.

Released on April 29, 2026

Although Class II dairy product manufacturing is strong, milk and cream
production are providing sufficient volumes for butter makers in the region as
well. Demand for spot loads is moderate from butter makers, with seasonally
higher Q2 prices for cream. Contractual intakes are generally keeping butter
churns active seven days a week. Butter production schedules vary from steady
to strong. Domestic butter demand is steady. US butter prices continue to be an
attractive price point for international buyers, which is keeping strong
interest, despite some logistical challenges. Loads of 80 and 82 percent
butterfat butter are available.
