Butter - West U.S.

Released on March 04, 2026

Strengthening milk production and strong fat components in milk output continue
to provide more than sufficient cream volumes for the West. Cream demands from
some Class II and III manufacturers, such as ice cream and cream cheese
producers, are seasonally increasing. Despite this, butter manufacturers are
having their cream needs met. Cream demand from butter manufacturers varies
from steady to stronger. Domestic butter demand is mixed. Some buyers are
pushing back on week 10 price increases. The CME butter price started the week
at $2.1050, which represented a $0.2650 increase from Friday, February 27,
2026. The CME butter price for Wednesday, March 4 decreased to $2.0200. Export
demand remains strong in areas not impacted by some global disruptions.
