The price range for dry whey in Europe contracted this reporting period, as 
prices increased at the lower end of the range and held steady at the top. 
Contacts say demand for dry whey is steady to lighter. Spot market participants 
in Europe are interested in purchasing additional loads of dry whey, but some 
are hesitant when offered loads priced closer to the top of the range. Interest 
from purchasers in other regions is unchanged. Demand for animal feed whey is 
light. Declining milk output and cheese production are contributing to lighter 
dry whey production schedules. Spot inventories remain somewhat snug, but 
purchasers say loads are easier to find this week, compared to the previous 
reporting period.
