In Europe, skim milk powder prices increased across the range this reporting 
period. Industry sources say demand was strong in recent weeks, but interest is 
softer this week. Price increases in recent weeks created some hesitance with 
purchasers, who say they are now primarily only securing loads to meet their 
immediate needs as they wait to see if prices remain elevated into the Fall. 
Skim milk powder production is limited by declining seasonal milk output. Some 
manufacturers say they are only producing skim milk powder for contracts, and 
they are not offering recent production on the spot market, keeping spot 
inventories tight.
