Skim milk powder (SMP) prices edged slightly higher at the top and remained the 
same at the bottom of the range this reporting period. Globally, milk powder 
demand remains strong and South American exporters are actively pursuing 
contracts in Northern Africa and within South America itself. According CLAL.it 
data, SMP production is down year over year in Argentina, while export volumes 
continue to increase. Brazil is the largest importer of Argentinian SMP and 
Brazilian total imports of SMP are up 11.24 percent year over year. Uruguay is 
seeing a year over year decrease in SMP exports. Overall production is steady 
for this time of year and demand is steady to strong.
