Skim milk powder (SMP) prices did not change in week 9 for South America. Milk 
production in South America is strong, and producers continue to look towards 
the export market to find outlets for powder. Some countries are seeing a large 
increase in export volumes while others are seeing a decline. Contacts indicate 
a growing interest in dry milk powders in international markets. Some 
manufacturers are prioritizing whole milk powder production over SMP. Spot 
loads of SMP are readily available in several countries.
