Skim Milk Powder - South America

The price range for skim milk powder (SMP) remains unchanged in South America. 
Production in South America is higher this year compared to last, but 
seasonally declining from its peak in October. SMP export volumes in Argentina 
increased in October year over year, contributing to overall powder exports. 
However, SMP accounted for a much smaller share of Argentina's total powder 
exports. In Uruguay, where SMP accounts for a small share of total dairy 
exports, shipments declined sharply in the latest reported month, making SMP 
one of the weaker components of the country's export mix. In Brazil, November 
inflows rose significantly year over year despite strong domestic milk 
production, indicating continued demand for imported powder in the processing 
sector. This leaves Brazil with a continued need for SMP imports from countries 
such as Argentina and Uruguay.
