Butter - East U.S.

Released on June 04, 2025

Butter churns are operating seven days a week in the Northeast. Cream
production is sufficient to keep butter production higher than anticipated for
the start of June. The CME Grade AA butter weekly average increased by more
than 13 cents last week, to $2.4938. Prices for retail butter are unchanged,
and sales are increasing some. Steady demand is present from food service and
bulk butter purchasers. International demand for butter is increasing, and
contacts are watching trends in the international markets. Stakeholders say
butter is available for spot purchasing and inventories are balanced.
Manufacturers are successfully moving butter loads, keeping the strain off of
warehouses.
