Butter churns remain operating seven days a week as cream supplies continue to 
support full production schedules. Cream is readily available in the region, 
and contacts report seeing cream multiples in the low 1.20s. The spring flush 
is peaking in the Eastern region, and the East Coast is entering the height of 
seasonal cream diversion into Class II ice cream production. Retail butter 
demand, which softened following a consumer demand shock in April, appears to 
be steady again according to contacts. Inventories and the market tone are 
steady.
