Butter - East U.S.

Released on January 28, 2026

Severe weather is causing significant disruption to dairy production across the
Eastern region. Many plants are experiencing unscheduled downtime due to
difficulty moving milk off farms, employees unable to reach facilities because
of road conditions, and limited truck availability. With several plants closed,
contacts report more cream than usual available, with excess volumes moving to
butter churns, which continue to run at full capacity as seasonal butter
inventories build. CME data shows spot butter prices firming on increased
trades. Cream multiples for Class IV show a slight increase.
