Nonfat Dry Milk - East and Central U.S.

Released on June 26, 2025

Spot prices for low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) in the Central region
increased at the bottom of the range this week and decreased at the top. The
Central region mostly price series for low/medium heat NDM held steady.
Low/medium heat NDM demand is softening from both domestic and international
purchasers. Contacts report exports to Mexico are strong but have declined in
recent weeks. Low/medium heat NDM inventories are somewhat tight. Increasing
temperatures are having a negative impact on milk production in the Central
region, but contacts say condensed skim is available for drying. Despite
declining regional milk output, condensed skim volumes are available for drying
and low/medium heat NDM production is steady. Plant managers are focusing on
low/medium heat NDM, limiting production of high heat NDM. High heat NDM
inventories are tight, but contacts report demand is light. The bottom of the
high heat NDM price range moved higher this week, while prices were unchanged
at the top of the range.
