Nonfat Dry Milk - East and Central U.S.

Released on June 20, 2025

Low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) prices moved higher at the top of the
range in the Central region this week. Meanwhile, the bottom of the price range
and both ends of the mostly price series were unchanged. Export demand for
low/medium heat is strong, but some stakeholders say interest from purchasers
in Mexico is declining. Milk output is declining in most parts of the Central
region, but condensed skim remains plentiful. Plant managers say they are
utilizing available volumes of condensed skim milk to steadily produce
low/medium heat NDM. Inventories are somewhat snug in the Midwest, and contacts
say spot loads of low/medium heat NDM are more difficult to obtain in the
southern portion of the region. Prices for high heat NDM increased this week
across the range. Demand is steady and spot inventories are tight. High heat
NDM production is limited, as plant managers continue to focus schedules on
low/medium heat to work through available volumes of condensed skim milk.
