Nonfat Dry Milk - East and Central U.S.

Released on June 12, 2025

Central region low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) prices were steady at the
top of the range and across the mostly price series, but prices increased at
the bottom of the range. Domestic demand for low/medium heat NDM is softening,
though contacts report strong export interest. Spot purchasers in Mexico are
buying significant volumes of low/medium heat NDM, but some stakeholders say
they are getting fewer calls this week from buyers in the country. Low/medium
heat NDM is available to meet current market demands, though contacts note
tighter inventories in the southern portion of the region are causing some
sellers to move loads from the Midwest to the Southwest for export. Drying
operations continue to run at or near capacity as condensed skim volumes are
ample in the region. Production is steady as plant managers continue to focus
schedules on low/medium heat NDM, limiting available time in schedules for high
heat NDM. Demand for high heat NDM is unchanged, but inventories remain snug.
High heat NDM prices followed low/medium heat this week, moving higher at the
bottom but holding steady at the top.
