Nonfat Dry Milk - East and Central U.S.

Released on June 04, 2026

In the Central and East regions, low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) prices
are unchanged at the bottom of the range. The top of the range and both ends of
the mostly price series moved lower this week. Inventories remain somewhat snug
in the Central and East regions, but contacts say more spot loads are available
in the West. Demand is soft in both domestic and international markets. Futures
prices on the CME closed on Tuesday in the low $2.00s for June, mid-$1.80s for
July, and high $1.60s for August. Contacts say some market participants notice
the downward trend in the coming months and are only purchasing loads to meet
their immediate needs as they wait for lower prices to hit the spot market.
With educational institutions on summer break, some drying operations are
securing additional milk to run busier production schedules. This is
contributing to an uptick in low/medium heat NDM production.

Prices decreased at the bottom of the range for high heat NDM in the Central
and East regions and increased at the top. Contacts report strong demand for
high heat NDM and say spot loads are difficult to find. High heat NDM
production remains limited, as plant managers continue to focus drying
schedules on low/medium heat.
