Manufacturers are taking advantage of high pricing for whey protein concentrates by shifting production priorities to those products. As a result, manufacturers are making enough dry whey to meet contractual needs leaving the spot market inventory for Extra Grade and Grade A dry whey tight. The price range for Extra Grade decreased by 2 cents at the bottom of the range this week. Export demand for dry whey is steady, and domestic demand remains strong.
