Dry Whey - East U.S.

Released on January 22, 2026

Dry whey and whey derivatives remain in strong demand throughout the East
region. Manufacturers are taking advantage of high pricing for whey protein
concentrates by shifting production priorities to those products. As a result,
manufacturers are making enough dry whey to meet contractual needs leaving the
spot market inventory for Extra Grade and Grade A dry whey tight. The price
range for Extra Grade decreased by 2 cents at the bottom of the range this
week. Export demand for dry whey is steady, and domestic demand remains strong.

Prices for: East, All First Sales, F.O.B., Edible Dry Whey
Price Range - Non-Hygroscopic; Dollars per Pound: 0.65 - 0.73
