Prices for both acid and rennet casein held steady this week. Acid casein 
demand is strengthening in Oceania, and contacts report steady interest from 
purchasers in other regions. Milk output is increasing in Oceania and plant 
managers say acid casein production is trending higher. Spot purchasers report 
acid casein inventories remain snug as demand continues to outpace production 
in Oceania. Rennet casein production is declining seasonally in Europe and 
demand is declining within the region. In other regions, demand for rennet 
casein is steady. Contacts report rennet casein is available to meet current 
market demands, but inventories are tightening in Europe.
