USDA National Casein Review 06/25 13:50

Casein - U.S.

Released on June 25, 2026

Acid casein prices are holding steady, but contacts in Oceania say contract
prices for next quarter are up from Q2. Contract demand is strong for Q3, but
contacts in the region say spot demand is softening. Spot loads of acid casein
are available, but inventories are not excessive. Plant managers are running
lighter production schedules in the region, as milk output is near seasonal
lows.

The top of the rennet casein price range moved higher this week, but prices are
unchanged at the bottom. Prices at the bottom of the range are from Q2
contracts and contacts say contracts for next quarter are higher. Spot
inventories are tight and spot prices are closer to the top of the range. High
temperatures are contributing to lighter milk output in Europe. Rennet casein
production is declining.
