Casein - U.S.

Released on May 21, 2026

Acid casein prices are unchanged across the range this week, but some contacts
say they are getting quotes for prices up to the $4.70s. Demand for acid casein
is steady in Oceania, but contacts say interest from purchasers in other
countries is strong. With the end of the production season in Oceania drawing
near, milk output is declining, and some acid casein makers say they are
running lighter production schedules. Demand is outpacing production and spot
inventories are tightening.

Milk output is strong in Europe, but the closure of a large manufacturing
facility is contributing to lighter rennet casein production. Contacts in
Europe say inventories are tightening due to lighter production and strong
demand. Some market participants say rennet casein inventories are also tight
in South America, leading them to look to European producers for spot loads.
Prices increased across the range this week, and some contacts say they are
receiving quotes for loads at prices up to $5.
