Dry Buttermilk - East and Central U.S.

Released on July 09, 2026

Dry buttermilk powder markets are modestly tighter this week, according to
contacts. Several production interruptions over the past four to five weeks
have limited output at multiple facilities, and unplanned downtime in the West
has further restricted supply. Spot interest was noted in the Midwest last
week, though offerings remain limited.

Eastern buyers continue to report difficulty securing spot buttermilk powder,
as inventories remain tight. Butter production remains steady, maintaining
liquid buttermilk availability for drying; however, dryer time continues to
favor nonfat dry milk, constraining buttermilk powder output. The bottom of the
price range was lowered by two cents on trade activity.
