Whey Protein Concentrate - Central and West U.S.

Whey protein concentrate (WPC) 34% prices were mixed this week, with the bottom 
of both the price range and mostly range advancing, while the mostly maximum 
price held firm. The significant drop at the top of the price range this week 
appears to be a variance following last week's elevated prices. Some contacts 
report contracted loads are moving within the AOM range, while spot sales are 
trending higher. Nonfat dry milk prices continue to reach record highs, further 
supporting the WPC 34% market. Demand is strengthening, and inventories remain 
tight, including supplies of WPC 34% used in infant formula. Overall, the 
market tone is firm, supported by strong demand and tight availability.
