Whey Protein Concentrate - Central and West U.S.

Whey protein concentrate (WPC) 34% markets were mostly higher this week, except 
for firming at the top of the mostly range. Spot inventories remain tight and 
contacts continue to report supplies of infant formula grade product are sold 
out. Demand has strengthened in recent weeks, lifting the bottom of the price 
range and the mostly series, though limited availability of infant formula 
loads has kept the upper end from moving higher. Production of WPC 34% remains 
light as manufacturers continue to prioritize WPC 80% and whey protein isolate 
output. Overall, the tone of the market is firm to strengthening, supported by 
brisk demand and constrained spot supplies.
