Milk output is steady in the Central region and contacts say component levels 
are up from this time last year. Cream production is seasonally strong, and 
volumes are becoming more available, as plant managers are purchasing fewer 
loads ahead of the end of year holidays. Butter makers report plenty of cream 
on hand, but lighter churning due to holiday downtime planned for the next two 
weeks. Demand for butter is lighter in both domestic and international markets 
this week. Spot purchasers say strong demand from export purchasers in recent 
weeks has kept inventories of 82 percent butterfat butter tight but loads of 80 
percent butterfat butter remain available.
