Butter - Central U.S.

Released on September 16, 2026

Milk production in the Central region declined again this week. Industry
contacts report continued movement of milk into the Central region for Class I
processing. Cream supplies are steady, though butter manufacturers note that
spot cream continues to move to Class II processors, leaving limited spot loads
available for Class IV processors. Cream exports to Mexico continue. Contacts
note most facilities indicate they are receiving cream at maximum contracted
volumes. Butter markets are active and holding steady. Grade AA butter is
trading nearly unchanged, flat to the CME. Inventories of 80 percent butterfat
remain ample, while contacts continue to report that inventories of 82 percent
butterfat remain tight.
