Butter - Central U.S.

Released on July 15, 2026

Contacts in the Central region say summer heat continues to negatively impact
milk output and component levels. Contacts say component levels and cream
production are declining at a more rapid pace than expected. Spot cream offers
are limited, and Class II purchasers are securing most of the volume being
offered. Some butter makers say they are looking for additional volumes of
cream to keep churns active. Butter production is steady to lighter, as some
plants have downtime this week. Domestic demand for butter is unchanged, and
export interest is strong. Spot loads of butter are available to meet current
market demands.
