Butter - Central U.S.

Released on May 20, 2026

In the Central region, milk output is unchanged and contacts say cream
production is strong. Spot cream inventories remain somewhat snug, amid strong
demand from Class II processors. Some butter makers in the Southwest say they
are buying spot cream from the West region, where multiples are lower, to keep
churns active. Butter makers are running busy schedules this week. Domestic
demand for butter is unchanged. Contacts say retail sales remain strong, while
food service demand is down from last year. Spot loads of 80 percent butterfat
butter are available, but contacts say 82 percent butterfat inventories are
tight, amid strong export demand.
