Dry Whey - Central U.S.

Released on December 24, 2025

Dry whey prices are steady across the range and mostly price series this week.
Spot trading is limited this week, as market participants are taking time off
for the end of year holidays. Contacts say lighter demand is temporary and they
anticipate spot trading to pick up in January. Inventories are tight and some
manufacturers say they are sold out of dry whey into next quarter. Markets for
higher whey protein concentrates remain bullish, and production remains geared
towards these products. This, along with planned downtime for the holidays, is
limiting dry whey output. The market for animal feed whey is quiet, and prices
are unchanged from last week. Contacts say production remains limited and
inventories are tight, while demand remains light.
