Dry Whey - Central U.S.

Released on February 19, 2026

Dry whey prices are unchanged at the tops of the range and mostly price series,
but prices moved lower at the bottoms of both. Dry whey demand varies somewhat
in domestic markets. Spot interest is light for dry whey overall and
inventories are growing. Contacts note steady demand for dry whey that meet
certain end user specifications or loads from specific brands and spot
inventories for these products, remain tight. Some plant managers say they are
running busier dry whey production schedules utilizing available liquid whey
supplies. Others note production is limited as their production is focused on
whey protein concentrate 80% (WPC 80%) and whey protein isolate (WPI). Markets
for WPC 80% and WPI remain bullish as demand is outpacing production and
inventories remain tight. The market for animal feed whey is quiet, and prices
are unchanged this week. Production is light and inventories are tight, while
demand is limited.
