Front Dropping Through Northern Half of US Wednesday

Cold front for the Northern Plains. Light snow for the Great Lakes.

A system is on its way off the East Coast Tuesday afternoon after dumping some moderate snow across the Midwest and heavy rain across the Southeast since Monday. Another system moving through southern Canada is sending a significant cold front down into the Northern Plains this afternoon and will continue to push southward through the northern half of the country on Wednesday. Some light snow will occur with the front, primarily across the Great Lakes. But some heavy snow may develop in the High Plains as winds push up against the Rockies. A burst of very cold air will fill in behind the front as well.
