Strong Winds, Snow, Cold on Friday

Clipper system continues to bring snow, cold on Friday.

A clipper system is moving through the Canadian Prairies on Thursday afternoon. Showers are moving down into the northern U.S. as well. The clipper will increase winds across the Plains this afternoon, with gusts exceeding 60 mph that will continue into Friday. The system will usher in another round of colder air as well as areas of snow showers. Those showers will be enhanced around the Great Lakes, but other areas across the north will only see light accumulation. Ahead of this system, cold air has already infiltrated the eastern half of the U.S. and will cause frosts and freezes all the way through Florida.
