Severe Weather Continues Friday, Cold Follows This Weekend

A sharp cold front is moving through the middle of the country Friday afternoon. Thunderstorms are starting to develop on the northern end of the front around Minnesota, but should erupt this afternoon as the front continues through the southeastern Plains and into the western Midwest. Areas of strong-to-severe thunderstorms could bring about many tornadoes and hurricane-force winds from Wisconsin to Oklahoma. The front will continue eastward with scattered showers and less-intense thunderstorms this weekend. Behind the front, temperatures are dropping like a rock, producing frosts and freezes in the Plains and Midwest this weekend.
