01/29/2026 | 12:02 pm CST Arctic Air Spreading This Weekend, Heavy Snow for Carolinas
Heavy snow for the Carolinas. Cold, arctic air for the Midwest and the South.
A clipper system is working down into the Southern Plains Thursday afternoon, but is not producing any precipitation. But once it makes it into the Southeast late Friday, the system will quickly deepen and produce heavy snow in and around the Carolinas going into the weekend. Cold, arctic air that is moving through the Midwest will sink south in behind the clipper, causing the coldest air of the year for Florida.
