Strong Thunderstorms Spreading Across Central US Tuesday

Showers, thunderstorms for the Midwest and Plains.

A cluster of thunderstorms is producing potential for hail across Arkansas Monday afternoon. That cluster will continue eastward for the rest of the day where threats will continue into the evening. But the bigger story is a two-part storm system out in the West. The northern portion is producing some snow across Montana into North Dakota and this portion of the system will move across the Northern Plains tonight and the Midwest on Tuesday, bringing an increase in showers and thunderstorms to the Midwest, some of which may be severe. A little snow will trail behind it across the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest Tuesday night as well. The second portion of the storm is in the Southwest and that will move into the Southern Plains on Tuesday, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms and some severe weather there as well. To go along with the severe threat, more heavy rain will be possible that could create some localized flooding, but improve drought conditions.
