Heavy Snow Falling in Colorado Wednesday
A cold front brings thunderstorms, heavy snow, frost, and freezing temperatures across the Plains.
A strong cold front continues to push southward through the Plains and Midwest Tuesday afternoon. A string of showers and some thunderstorms continue to form near the front and stronger thunderstorms are expected to develop from northeast Texas into the northern Delta this afternoon and evening. But the bigger story is the rain falling in the central High Plains turning over to snow. That process has started and will increase overnight into Wednesday, where heavy snow is expected. Some snow may fall in far western Nebraska and Kansas as well. Cold air flowing in behind the front will produce areas of frosts and freezes as well.
