Wildfire Smoke, Increasing Showers for Midwest Friday

Heat continues to be an issue across the Northern Plains and into parts of the Midwest Thursday afternoon. Some isolated showers are developing over the Midwest while wildfire smoke settles across the Great Lakes. Both are combining to keep temperatures a touch lower than they otherwise would be. That will continue to spread through the Midwest for Friday. Meanwhile, the heatwave will continue over the Northern Plains with heat slowly building through the Central Plains as well.
