Storm Moving Through Great Lakes This Weekend

A front and storm system bring showers, thunderstorms, and snow from Northeast to Gulf Coast and Midwest; temperatures cool temporarily before warming returns next week.

A front is still producing a band of broken showers and some thunderstorms from the Northeast down to the central Gulf Coast Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, a storm is moving into Texas and is firing up more thunderstorms there as well. It has also developed a band of snow in the southwestern Plains that will follow the track of the low-pressure center northeast through Midwest for the rest of Friday and into Saturday. As the system deepens over the Great Lakes on Saturday, winds and snow will increase across the Midwest and a cooldown to seasonal temperatures will occur. Warmer air will fill right back in early next week, however.
