Central US Staying Busy This Weekend

A front is dragging through the Midwest Friday afternoon. Scattered showers and some thunderstorms are found in the general vicinity of the front this afternoon and some areas of stronger thunderstorms will be possible, especially from southeast Nebraska into northern Illinois this evening. The front will stall in the western Midwest this weekend and the combination of this front, a trough in the Southwest, and another system moving through the Northern Plains and Canadian Prairies will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms through the middle of the country through the weekend. Areas of heavy rain and severe weather will be possible.
