Scattered storms sweep Plains and Southeast; Pacific Northwest system brings heavy rain this weekend.
Showers Friday across the South and Southeast and through the weekend. Also from southern South Dakota into the Delta.
Scattered showers and some thunderstorms are found in a line from South Dakota down to the Southeast Friday afternoon. Some batches of heavy rain will be possible. But the big story is a system in the Pacific Northwest that will move into the Northern Plains this weekend. In addition to producing areas of heavy rain there and north into Alberta and Saskatchewan, the system will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms down the Plains. Some limited severe weather and heavy rainfall will be possible. Showers and storms will continue in the Southeast through the weekend as well.
