More Rain, Thunderstorms for Central US Wednesday

Showers, thunderstorms with strong winds and hail for Central U.S., and flooding is a concern too.

A few pieces of energy are moving through the U.S. on Tuesday afternoon, producing areas of showers from the Northeast back to the central Rockies. These pieces of energy will continue eastward for Wednesday, continuing showers along that string and filling in a bit more across the Central and Southern Plains into the southern Midwest. Some of those showers will come as thunderstorms, with strong winds and hail as the primary threats. The southeastern Plains are the most likely areas to see stronger storms. In addition, areas of heavy rain could produce some flooding as multiple days of rain continue.
